Motorcycles brought to Alberta from outside the province must pass an out-of-province inspection before they can hit the road. Our experienced and licensed mechanic will look over your bike to make sure it’s safe and up to Alberta road regulations.

We’ll look over your bike’s onboard computer (if applicable), to scan for codes, check the antilock brakes and watch for warning indicators.

Controls
We’ll check out your bike’s handlebars, clutch, brake, throttle cable, lever, horn, and starter system.
Light up the road
Headlamps
We’ll examine the headlamps, brake and tail light signals, licence plate light, dash indicator lights, front and rear reflectors, and headlight aim.

Steering & Suspension
We’ll pay attention to the stem bearings, swing arm, rear shocks and fork seals.

Tires & rims
We’ll assess tire size and type, tread depth, tire rotation, tire pressure, wheel bearings, and wheels.

6 Simple Steps
The out-of-province inspection process:
Book an out-of-province inspection
Purchase a ‘Vehicle Inspection Request Form’
Visit any Alberta Registry to purchase a ‘Request for Vehicle Inspection Form’. You'll need to provide proof of ownership, such as a bill of sale or certificate of title.
Get your bike inspected
Bring your completed ‘Request for Vehicle Inspection Form’ with you on the day of your inspection.We’ll thoroughly inspect your wheels and let you know what, if anything, needs fixing before you can get it registered.
Time: ~ 2 hours depending on make and model of bike
Fix your bike
Does your bike need work before it’s road-worthy? Book a repair appointment.
Register your motorbike
Congratulations! Your wheels passed inspection. Time to head back to your local Alberta Registry to register your ride and get a licence plate. Your bike must be registered within 14 days of the inspection.
