Steve3

Steven (Steve) Van Hecke

Owner, Sick Cycles Inc.

Steve was born and raised on a farm just outside of Alliance, AB. He spent 30 years as a trucker in the oil and gas industry. That career brought him to Bonnyville. Needing a big change he decided to open Sick Cycles Inc.

And the need was there. The local Harley dealership closed down and the next option for local riders to get their wheels fixed was Edmonton! Steve didn’t want to go to the province’s capital to get his bike fixed and he doubted others would either. It was from this need that he decided to open a full-service motorcycle repair and accessories shop in Bonnyville, AB, in March 2020.
Steve has his father, Cecil, to thank for opening Sick Cycles. When his dad passed away tragically, Steve used his inheritance to make his dream of opening a business a reality.

Barrie Dinning

General Manager

Barrie was born and raised in Edmonton, AB. He moved to Bonnyville 10 years ago after having worked in warehouse and parts settings in the heavy duty and automotive industries. He worked in these fields for over 30 years before he made a move to bikes.

If anyone knows parts, it’s Barrie! It’s because of his experience and passion for motorcycles that he was asked to join the Sick Cycles team, a team he’s very proud to be a part of.

Brent Amaila

Journeyman Motorcycle Mechanic

Brent was born and raised on a farm in the Glendon/ Bonnyville area. He enjoyed lots of opportunities for outdoor adventure as a kid and quickly discovered a need to learn how to build and fix his own motor toys.

His 1st motorbike had a whopping 3 hp and no brakes!
Eventually, his passion led him to school where he could learn how to go faster and stop safely. In 1996, Brent achieved his dream of becoming a journeyman and Red Seal motorcycle mechanic.
These days, on good-riding weather Sundays after church, Brent can be found exploring the Lakeland region on his dual sport XR650L. He has the skills to work on any brand and type of motorsport machine. If you ride it and break it, he can fix it.
